Gas leak surveys is one of our core offerings. We pride ourselves on being reliable and throrough in our work. Outlined below is the process we take when working with our valued customers.
Planning & GIS Mapping
1. SCHEDULING
We pride ourselves on being reliable, so we plan gas leak surveys in advance to ensure dedicated utilization is available to a project timeline.
2. GIS MAPPING AND PREPARATION
We create GPS PDF maps that our field crews can use and follow on a tablet or phone in the field. This is created using existing GIS data or paper maps.
3. EXECUTION PLANNING
We plan out our walking routes ahead of time to eliminate waste. This ensures we finish the job within the constraints of project budgets and timelines.
Fieldwork & Data Acquisition
4. CALLOUTS
We can perform callouts to our customer’s landowners to notify them of the details of our gas leak survey visit. This educates landowners on what to expect when we are out in the field working.
5. FIELDWORK
As fieldwork commences, toolbox & safety meetings are performed, equipment checks are made, and landowner concerns are reviewed prior to starting work. Line locating or GPS survey may happen simultaneously.
6. GPS TRACKS/DATA VERIFICATION
GPS tracks and gas samples are reviewed daily to ensure pipeline right of way was walked to a satisfactory degree, and to identify large leaks that we should report immediately to the natural gas utility provider.
Reporting, GIS Support & Maintenance
7. REPORTING
A reprort is provided with gas leak information, location, right of way patrol comments, and a letter signed by a professional engineer stating the level of associated risk of leaks found. A recommendation is made on either monitoring of fixing the leak immediately. The report is reviewed by a professional engineer and signed before submission to the customer, and is to a level that can be submitted to a governing regulatory body.
8. GIS SUPPORT
Sometimes our customers run ARC GIS in-house. Our customers that work with us on the GPS Survey or Gas Leak Detection have access to unlimited ARC GIS Support. We will even come visit your office for a day to help you trouble shoot any issues or concerns you may have with fieldmaps or google earth.
9. MAINTENANCE
We are available for 24/7 dispatch. Your emergencies are our emergencies, and we are more than happy to help in your time of need.
